Minister Lamamra holds discussions in Kigali with UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon. 15/07/2016

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra held discussions, in Kigali (Rwanda) on July 15th 2016, with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

It was an opportunity for the two sides to discuss the forthcoming meeting on South Sudan, scheduled as part of the works of the 27th African Union Summit, which take place in the Rwandese capital on 17 and 18 July 2016.

Peace and security issues in Africa, especially Western Sahara conflict, were also at the centre of the discussions.

Lamamra and Ban Ki-moon also exchanged views on issues put on AU Summit’s agenda, as well as other international issues.

During the discussions, Ban Ki-moon asked Lamamra to convey warn greetings and gratitude to President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, for his “continued support” during his two terms in office as UN General Secretary.
