An Algerian delegation attended the 10th African Union Peace and Security Council Annual Retreat – Kigali, 03rd – 05th May 2017.

The African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC) 10th Annual Retreat was opened  03 May in Kigali, Rwanda under the theme, “Implementation of the PSC Working Methods and Adoptive Decisions since 2007”. The three-day Retreat aims at reviewing the implementation of PSC working methods.

The retreat was attended by 15 representatives of PSC member states comprised of Algeria, Botswana, Burundi, Chad, Congo, Egypt, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.

The Chairperson of the Peace and Security Council for the Month of May is the Permanent Representative of Uganda to the African Union (AU).

The Permanent Representative of Algeria to the African Union (AU), the Ambassador Rachid  Benlounes, led the Algerian delegation accompanied by his deputy, the Minister Counselor at the Algerian Embassy in Addis Ababa.
