Algeria-Uganda: signing of two bilateral conventions to strengthen diplomatic cooperation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and the Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, John Mulimba, on Thursday signed two bilateral agreements for the strengthening of cooperation diplomatic relationship between the two countries, a statement from the ministry said.
This is a convention on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and mission passports and a memorandum of understanding on political consultation between Algeria and Uganda, the statement said. After the signing, “both parties welcomed this new step which is part of the consolidation of the positive dynamics of brotherly relations and cooperation between the two countries and the strengthening of their common commitment to issues of the African continent and developing countries in general,” added the same source. At the end of his working visit to Algeria, Mr. Mulimba expressed “his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Algerian authorities for their hospitality and for the rich program of high-level meetings he had, in particular with the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which confirm the commitment of the two parties to continue to work for the deepening of bilateral relations and the convergence of views between the two countries with regard to the various developments at the regional and international levels” , the statement concluded.
