Algeria has been designated as representative of North Africa at the Advisory Committee of the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (ITSO), the ministry of Post and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) said on October 16th in a statement.
The decision was taken during the 37th session of the organization’s Assembly of Parties, held in Washington in mid-October (12-14).
The ministry said Algeria will thus be “actively involved in the decision making process relating to the international body’s activities.”
During the 37th Assembly, and “thanks to a mobilization of African countries, including Algeria, “Ugandan Patrick Masambu has been elected, with a majority of votes, as ITSO’s director general,” the statement said.
